Warning: Not for the light diner..
1 beef brisket, 1 recipe or bottle BBQ sauce, 1 sm/med head of cabbage cut into 6 wedges, 6 slices of bacon cut in half
Salt & pepper beef brisket. Brown both sides on top of the stove. Place in a roasting dish or preferably a dutch oven. Arrange the cabbage wedges around the beef. Top the cabbage & the beef with BBQ sauce & bacon slices. Cover & roast at 325 until fork tender (about 3 hours for a 3# roast)
Now before I lose all credibility : I used grass fed beef, quality BBQ sauce, organic cabbage & bacon… but you can do as you wish it’s your kitchen
The cabbage idea came from our local BBQ restaurant who sells a smoked cabbage wedge dredged with BBQ sauce & bacon ..
