1 loaf of sliced white bread cut into crumbs (you do not want this too fresh great use for stale bread)
5 T butter( 3 for stuffing & 2 for gravy)
1 small onion diced
1 large celery stalk diced
3 cups chicken broth
2 T flour
To make the stuffing:brown the onions & celery in the 3 T butter. Place bread cubes into a large bowl… add the onions & celery to the cubes then top with 1 1/2 cup of broth & stir…
To make gravy:Melt 2 T butter in a small pot then add 2 T flour & stir then stir in 1 1/2 of chicken broth & stir until thickened…
To assemble: place chicken in a baking dish, top with stuffing then gravy…bake covered 350 for 40-45 minutes…you can make this ahead of time
*this is great to do with pork chops for stuffed pork chops… Just brown 4-6 loin pork chops in some butter & top with the same chicken gravy & stuffing bake 1 hour…
