I spent last weekend in Dayton, Va with my cousin Mark & his daughter Anna. What an amazing time of sitting and relaxing. We were visiting dear Old order Mennonite friends of mine. Our girls fed calves by bottle, collected chicken eggs, milked cows and rode on a pony cart.
The stillness of visting, the homemade food you don’t find in any restaurant & the refreshing of the soul. This town ,where time has stood, still beckons you back to a simpler time and old values. Technology has given us some great advances but certainly not without a cost. We are so productive today with all our technology but do we really have more time on our hands. It’s funny we visited 3 homes and had 4 amazing home cooked meals and hours of visting there but I cannot remember when we’ve ever had guests or been invited to a homecooked meal let alone 4 in a weekend..
