Maddie’s tator tot casserole

November 13, 2014 By Kristie

Yes, I have eaten in Paris; I have studied culinary arts and classical French cuisine.  But a few months ago when one of my sweet girls asked to make dinner I said, “YES!”  This dinner was a “from scratch” version of the Duggar’s tator tot casserole.012 I was smitten with this simple comforting dish and I didn’t have to cook or do dishes (score!): 1 pound ground beef, 1 small onion diced, 1 stalk celery diced, 1 1/2 c milk, 6 slices American cheese, 1 tsp each: onion salt, granulated garlic, salt & pepper & tator tots(puffs). Brown the hamburger in a pan and drain, add in the onion & celery, cook 5 mins add in the milk. Simmer and add the cheese and stir to melt & thicken. Pour into a casserole dish & top with the tots. Bake 350 40-45 min.. The Duggar’s use cream of soups but we make most things from scratch because I am GF. So we adapted it for that purpose.. Also the tots we uses were also GF .. Of course tomorrow I am going to need to post something impressive t regain credibility with you
