Home Cooking Made Simple

pumpkin bars with salted caramel buttercream

November 20, 2014 By Kristie

We have been so very blessed with some wonderful “God appointed” family. I made this dessert the other night with a meal we shared to thank them for all their love to us. 4 eggs, 1 c oil, 1 1/2 c sugar, 1 (15oz) can pumpkin, 2 c flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp cinnamon & a pinch of salt. Mix everything together & pour onto a greased sheet pan. Bake 350 20 min. Cool & top with this yummy buttercream: 4 T soft butter, 1/4 c salted caramel (I used smuckers brand), 1 box of powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla & enough milk to desired consistency (about 1/4 c) I beat the butter in a standing mixer and add in the remaining ingredients until nice & fluffy. 026
