Sneaky Smoothies

August 10, 2011 By Kristie

10 Aug

Why “sneaky” because I have been sneaking veggies into my smoothies & my kids have no idea. I was reading the “vitamix lady” & she says that there are veggies that the taste disppears into the smoothie..not believing anything I haven’t personally tried, I gave it a whirl- I have only tried the spinach so far because I thought that was the most nutritious of the 5 magic veggies.. So I do 1 banana, fresh berries, peach & 1 cup fresh spinach & a few baby carrots with 1 cup ice, 1 cup water or milk ( I like coconut milk)… Great fruits to try with smoothies are: berries, pineapple, grapes, oranges, kiwi, mango…. Oh & by the way they are starting the day with 1 serving of fruits & veggies & these smoothies are filling… I use a vitamix but if you’re using a blender chop the carrots a little first..go organic if you can for the berries & veggies
