Tomato sauce

October 29, 2010 By Kristie

29 Oct

2 cloves of garlic minced
3 T olive oil
2 cans of tuttorosso crushed tomatoes (green label)
salt & pepper

Heat oil in a pot add garlic ..once it starts to sizzle I add my crushed tomatoes & salt & pepper. I like these tomatoes because they have fresh basil in them. I cover & simmer on medium for 30 minutes…
Variations:
Add browned hamburger for meat sauce
Add heavy cream & parmesan for a tomato cream sauce
Add browned sweet Italian sausage links
Add a pork roast of ribs & slow cook all day for a classic pork sauce
You can use organic tomatoes instead too. When I use my own canned tomatoes I find I need to add paste & basil & even sometimes a little sweetner
